Pictograms for use at major football and sporting events. The pictograms were designed using a gridded system and to be used alongside the typeface ‘Open Sans’ so elements of the typeface design were implemented into the pictogram design.
When creating my outcomes I had chosen the typeface ‘Open Sans’ to be used for the signage and wayfinding. The pictograms were designed by taking elements from the typeface, such as the form of certain characters and letterforms. This particular typeface was chosen due to its versatility across a variety of platforms in a number of weights and sizes. Another reason was due to it being implemented on the FIFA website as main body text and subheadings and its strong performance in both print and digital formats.
